Sometimes in life, we ask God for things we desire. A Man, asked God for a beautiful flower and a Butterfly. He was discouraged when he received a cactus instead, and even more discouraged when that cactus had a larva at the bottom. Despite the disappointment he received, he faithfully served God anyway, not wanting to let something so silly get in the way of his devotion to the Living God.
Time went on, life continued, and his faith remained consistent. Upon returning home one day, he noticed that the cactus had bloomed a brilliant flower and the larva had turned into a beautiful butterfly.
Sometimes we go through things in life that we don't understand. Sometimes it seems like God does not hear our prayers and requests. But if we are patient to wait upon the Lord his will always prevails!
"I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints...
...My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him...
...I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God...
...These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season...
...And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation...
...And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him."
