I was reading yet another article that claims "proof" of evolution. They claimed that a fossil of a pre-historic ape-person was recently discovered in the caves of Africa, who supposedly lived nearly 2 million years ago. Despite the various flaws in assumptions made throughout the article that cannot possibly be proven accurate, I will give credit to the honesty of Prof. Hawks for making it clear that this is "Not a missing link."
This article is yet another reason for people to question the authenticity of recent science. What happened to the scientific method? Why are our schools continuing to teach theories as fact to our innocent children? Not that I believe religion should be forced, in fact the Bible states that we should come to God through rational belief rather than blind faith (Hebrews 11:6). But can't we evolve in our public sector to at least admit in the possibility of a divine creator? Can't we present the flaws of the evolution theory along with its supposed evidences? Thus teaching children to come to their own conclusions?
I can voice from the teaching side of this debate, for the longer I teach the more frustrated I become with my students in their lack of voice. Students are afraid to refute the textbook because they might be wrong, they are scared of risk, and have not been taught to think for themselves in responsible fashions.
But when looked at carefully, Science in the end, examines the same indoctrination that is found in world religions and requires as much faith that there is no God, as a believer requires in the faith that there is a God (if not more.) When a non-believer truly looks at scientific "fact" he/she will learn that those facts are actually based on theories. Therefore, when comparing to the Bible, it is circumstantial. The Bible therein, holds truer than any other book on the face of earth simply for the fact that since the discovery of the Dead Sea scrolls it is unchanged for more than 2000 years and as time passes, more and more biblical evidence(s) are proven true.
Evolution on the other hand, constantly refutes any circumstantial evidence (like the bones with flesh and active DNA recently discovered in N. America) that could possible disprove there theory, and automatically discredit anything that leads to evidence of a divine Creator.
When it all winds down, modern science is cued by the same thing as all worldly travesties-money. And it thrives off brainwashing young and innocent minds in the nation's school system. One Day I hope schools will begin to retrain students to use the scientific theory and think for themselves, examine the evidence and conclude their own theories based on the observation of the evidence they accumulate. Rather than simply believe what they are told-that goes for Christian too.
I feel as though it is important as a Christian, an ambassador of the living God, to research what we are saying before we make our opinions public, as not all "Christian opinions" are fact that correspond with the Bible.
But rather, both sides need to do their research, but if I were to be either the uniformed believer or the uniformed atheist, I think I would choose the first of the two. I would rather live my life worshiping a God that doesn't exist, than die, and when it is too late, discover the living God that I denied during my whole living life.
