The interpreting dictionary

Any mother knows that she at times, has to interpret what her two year old is saying to the general English speaking populations. The same mother is perplexed, her son/daughter is speaking so clear...how could they not understand the adorable sense their child is trying to make out of words?

With so many helping hands volunteering to sit with the kids for an hour at a time so I can go to the hospital to visit with their dad, I thought it might be helpful to make the LAKE children Dictionary for practical interpreting reasons.

 

So here goes, in alphabetical order of course:

Allimoles: Animals

Aside: I want to play outside.  

Bam: A hammer like tool. OR The sound of hitting an invisible force or enemy also known as POW or ker-pow

Bammed: Getting hit by a sibling as in: sissy bammed me.

Ban-Bans: Band aids

B-Ball: Any ball that Zechi can throw.

Cake-cakes: Pancakes or waffels or cupcakes.

Chaca mik: Chocolate Milk, is there really any other way to drink it? Oh, one more thing, they are not actually referring to the beverage, but the powder that makes it delicious. (mom has been known to fake scoop and kids seems to not recognize the difference....SHhhh)

Dos?: Past tense for do.

DOG-dog: Hot Dog

Forcee (for-see): a horse-like creature. Also known as a hee-haw

gege (gee-gee): blanket (if Zechi is saying it he wants the football one, Hannah prefers the hello kitty one, and Tabby needs her butterfly one-all made by grandma mimi.)

gerbrella: Umbrella

Handsome: Zechi's new name according to Sam. (and yes, he responds to it)

Hers: she

Here: Give me your hand, let me show you

Hot: Don’t touch (not necessarily because it is hot.)

I-U motts: Interpretations: I love you much.

Juice: any liquid that is drinkable and that which is not chocolate milk. Water, juice, milk are all acceptable in this category.

Keeker: A cat (like ours-or not.)

mmmm-num: satisfying to the taste buds

mear: Come here

Mimi: Grandma Tina

Muaw: kiss sound

Nana: Could mean Banana or "Nana" (Grandma) Carol

Nandies: candy

Nite-Nite: Means I am tired, but don't ask me if I want to go to bed, my answer will be a loud NO!

Ommie: Grandma Laurie

Owie: I got hurt somewhere, good luck figuring out where because I will hug you, and be fine blood or no blood.

Pack-pack: A back pack

Papa: Grandpa

Puppy: Any dog any age.

SAM!: Their daytime mommy Monday-Friday but not most Wednesdays. And then again sometimes on Sunday morning.

Sissy: Hannah and sometimes Ashelen

Slip-slops: also known as flip flops to the general masses.

Tis: Kiss

Told: Cold-I need a towel

Tooter: Means, scooter, its is often very difficult to decipher and can sometimes come out sounds like tory.

Tory: Story book

Tub-Tub: Bath time

Tup: Cup

Up and Downs: To Jump

Wap: This one is tricky because is has a double meaning, it could mean Lap (as in "I want to sit in your Wap" or it could mean spanking as in "Do you need a wap or are you going to listen?")

Wook: Means to look at something Zechi is trying to show you.
