The more I dig into the legalism of our world the deeper my heart sinks in sadness. The voices of the innocents are drowned by the rights of the evil-doers. I used to have faith in our system...but the more Right I do, the more I'm told I'm wrong.
"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control against such things there is no law."
I have matched my conscious actions against God's word. He tells me that I am an ambassador not of this world but sent to speak his love and truth, his word, to an unbelieving society. People all around me claim God as Lord, but many do not show him in the actions of their lives.
Christ says that if we WANT to follow him then we must DIE to ourselves...That we must pick up our cross daily...that we must reject EVERYTHING in this world including our MOST valued possessions.
And so I ask, how many are willing to die for him? And I think, that's the easy way out. If I die, then I'm a martyr, and I get to enter all of eternity with Immanuel. Don't read me wrong, to die for Christ is gain and I am in no way diminishing the significance of those who have paid that price. But I just think that saying I am willing to die for God is easier than saying I am willing to live for him. And not just live for him, but sacrifice everything for his behalf. Possessions hold no value, I think it is easier to sacrifice materialism than a cost of much greater value. And so I ask you...are you willing to lay down the lives of your family in order to follow his call? Your husband? Children? Could you place your child on the physical alter of endangerment willingly if it was for the greater good of God's kingdom? Sometimes I think he asks that of us. Luckily for the majority, I believe it is a test of faith...a rite of passage so to speak into a deeper relationship with the creator of the world. One I have failed many a time, but am more recently discovering growth and strength in.
See, with sacrifice, comes rewards, blessings, promise, compassion, forgiveness, wisdom, testimony. Until we are willing to risk EVERYTHING we can gain nothing. But when we do risk everything we gain his eternal wisdom, grace...promise.
This world is doomed. Therefore, to rely on the world to do what is right is foolishness. The minds of Mankind are not capable of deciding what we want for dinner each night, let alone important life altering decisions. We seek fairness by our measure of the word, whereas God's justice is in a league of which we cannot imagine!
Therefore, although I do not depend on the world to do what is right, I will not stop speaking truth and fighting for the innocent. But I do know, that being heard, taking action and actually seeing results will take nothing short of a miracle. And so my battle ground is on my Knees.
I have heard the prophesy and I rejoice. I have tasted the sweetness of the honey from the promise land. I have seen visions of redemption. And so I wait in the desert...until he calls me to come forth and enter into his plans of reward and blessings.
Lord, I ask, I knock, I seek. I have heard your call, I have laid all on the line and willingly continue, you have called me by name. And now I wait upon your promise.
Amen
