40 weeks and 6 days later, we are still waiting for the arrival of our daughter. Hannah runs around the house yelling I am going to have a BABY SISTER soon. Soon, yes, but not soon enough. I NEVER would have guessed that I was going to have a late baby. In fact, I had pre-bought matching Easter dresses for my girls to take pictures in. The Saturday before Easter, I conceded and took pictures without her (above.)
Usually the FIRST child is late, but Miss Hannah was born on her due date at 9 pounds 5 ounces. My Second child was also as scheduled-early as siblings should be, Born the week before HIS due date at 8 pounds 15 ounces. And so what is going on with this little girl? I mean she was the scheduled preemie with complications? Now she is choosing to over bake! I guess it is true what they say, every pregnancy is different and every child will come when THEY are ready. Every pre-conceived notion I had about being induced is being put to the test, as of tomorrow I schedule a date, who knew that I would be starting my maternity leave without a newborn?!
Nesting has been ridiculous, I clean the house EVERY night just knowing she is going to come. On Easter morning I dressed up the kiddos for church and mid service felt hard contractions about 3 min apart which lead us to an early dismissal and an embarrassingly quick round trip to the hospital and back. So my bags are packed, I am ready to go, the crib is ready, legs shaved, house cleaned (as best as it can be with two little ones living in it daily) and now we wait some more...
