It blows my mind

I look around me. 

Everything that I have has been provided by God. 

Literally everything. 

Every room in my house is furnished

And very little of it did I buy. 

My bed, my dresser, my dining room set 

My couches, my office desk and hutch

None of them did I purchase. 

My children's rooms-beds, cribs and dressers all gifts from loved ones or received second hand from others. 

My closets are full...overflowing even 

with clothes given to me.

 My dressers cannot be cleaned out faster than they are refilled. 

All three of my children dressed by the second hands of others. 

Even at times in my life when I couldn't afford groceries, food has been provided. 

My family has never felt the pains of hunger. 

My children have always gone to bed with full stomachs and healthy too.

I am blessed. 

Overwhelmingly, mind blown. 

Blessed. 

I am not poor. 

We afford the luxuries of many fine things. -vacations that make others envious 

I am not rich by any standards of wealth. 

But I am not poor. 

But to acknowledge all the blessings in my life...all glory must be given to God. 

We do our best to please him. 

But it is our cup that overflows. 

To name all the individuals that have been used by God to bless our family would be incredibly long and I am sure I would miss many on that list. 

I think of the scriptures: 

"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Luke 12:27

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care." Matthew 10:29

Thank you Lord for your abundant provisions. 

Despite all that is wrong in this world, despite all the worry that could cloud my judgements, 

I close my eyes in peace each night

And open them with peace each day

Knowing that before I even ask

You are there

Leading my way

And your provisions sustain me. 

I cannot praise you enough for all that you do. 

I only ask that we, my family, may bless others

As so many have blessed us
